With her passion for sustainability and her community, Megyn has volunteered at various organisations over the years and has contributed her time and financially to causes she believes in.

Megyn is Past President of Cleantech Industries for 5 years from 2018 to 2023, the industry body for cleantech and sustainable businesses on the Sunshine Coast. Joining as Organisation Secretary back in 2016, Megyn grew the organisation and helped to spread the word about sustainability while promoting local cleantech and sustainable products and services in an ever-changing industry.

Cleantech Industries has been rebranded to become Cleantech Network. Megyn transitioned with the organisation throughout the restructuring process after building the base and industry connections. Cleantech Network is now reaching new heights with an expanded board.

Megyn created the GreenX Talks Conference and Expo, a Queensland business sustainability event with TEDx style talks. Hosted by Cleantech Industries, the inaugural event in 2023 was held at the Caloundra Events Centre featuring keynotes from Stuart Moore, CEO of Earthcheck and Natalie Isaacs, Founder of One Million Women. The GreenX Talks Expo hosted up to 20 exhibitors showcasing sustainability innovations, educational opportunities, cleantech and sustainable products and services.

Megyn joined Voices of Fisher, a community group with a vision to have an engaged community with an independent political representative. One who listens and responds to community voices, is committed to improving transparency and integrity in politics, supporting and advocating evidence-based climate action and advancing gender & intergenerational equity. The community group selected Keryn Jones as Fisher’s independent candidate in the 2025 federal election.

Megyn was a Director of Caloundra Rotary Club for 2 years and assisted with marketing, fundraising and booking speakers for meetings. Megyn volunteered to raise money for national and international Rotary causes and helped out at the annual RYDA road safety education youth training day.

Megyn is personally and professionally aligned with these Sustainable Development Goals: SDG11- Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG13-Climate Action, SDG5-Gender Equality, SDG17-Partnerships for the Goals. These are sustainable development goals of focus for Megyn’s business, Sustainability Success.

Megyn chooses to offset her carbon emissions from work and personal travelling to the Visit Sunshine Coast’s ‘Sunshine Coast Sustainability Program’ who partner with Reforest. Carbon removal is through local Sunshine Coast reforestation projects that help restore ecosystems. A tree-planting project is regenerating land in Megyn’s local area of Caloundra, Queensland.

Megyn regularly donates to DV Connect to support women and children in domestic and family violence situations. DV Connect provides emergency transport and accommodation for the whole family. With the domestic and family violence situation in Australia reaching epidemic levels, it is important to support the organisations that provide support and safety.

Megyn proudly sponsors an Australian child through The Smith Family It’s heartwarming to see how sponsoring Australian children can make a difference. The Smith Family provide much needed support for children in need to give them a helping hand with school essentials, local, personalised support and additional learning support.

With the unprecedented flooding in outback Queensland, Rural Aid are on the ground helping people in rural communities in the recovery. Sadly, stock losses have been up to 500,000, thousands of homes have been flooded and many people have lost everything.
